The Patrone ... Allegiance to the Patrone

Once upon a time there was a system of employment .... workers, mosly men, struggling to recover from the Depression took work  and housing from factories in which the owner, the patrone, had rights over employees and their wives and children.

The Patrone had lots of money and held the keys to the houses in which these folk lived ... and the right to fuck the women. Who woulda thunk that we, in our lifetime, would see religious Christian and Jews support a man who saw the World through that system of thinking.

Allegiance runs deep but one can only marvel at the fidelity of someone like Huckabee or Ryan or Ralph Reed or Chris Christie standing by their man even after Donnie the Patrone shoots someone on Fifth Avenue and then goes furniture shopping with their wives and then grabs their wives' crutch and takes them to bed. Good going ... Mike ... Chris ... Ralph ... Paul ... Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son, his only son, the one that he loved but you guys are willing to let your wives and daughters be bedded by a little rich kid who believes the boundaries of the church apply to everyone except your nominee. God bless you all.

And  I welcome all the rest, too.

Adestes fideles, laete triumphante, adite, adite ad bethlehem!

It is time for people of faith to join arms and speak to each other about the imperatives of their faith traditions .... holy, shall you be, to your God, for God is holy (lev. 19 and many writings from elsewhere that admonish us to choose a king like us who surrounds himself with wisdom and not with the trappings of monarchy ... not with too many horses or women.) Do not mock the handicapped, our scriptures tell us .... do not curse behind a deaf person, do not place a stumbling block before the blind, be chaste and merciful for your god is merciful.

Once the ancient israelites appointed an evil king in the decline of their kingdom after david died ... jeroboam ben nvat. to this day, the only thing named after him is a bottle-size for fermented grape. it is said about him that "he sinned and made israel sin to their father in heaven."

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is likely to win among evangelical voters overall. .... but
Nearly 100 evangelical leaders have signed onto a letter urging their fellow Christians to vote against Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, who, they write, “has fueled white American nationalism with xenophobic appeals and religious intolerance at the expense of gospel values, democratic principles, and important international relationships.”
The letter was posted to Change.org on Thursday, and had nearly 5,000 signatures by midday Friday.
The evangelicals behind the letter do not necessarily endorse Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, they write ― but they are united in their opposition to Trump, who is working to maintain the Republican stronghold on the evangelical community.
Imperfect elections and flawed candidates often make for complicated and difficult choices for Christians,” the letter reads. “But sometimes historic moments arise when more is at stake than partisan politics ― when the meaning and integrity of our faith hangs in the balance. This is one of those moments.”
Evangelical voters tend to support Republicans ― former President George W. Bush won 78 percent of evangelicals in 2004, Sen. John McCain of Arizona won 74 perc
