The Duping of God's People

Three possible titles occurred to me, this morning for my rant ... two beyond the one chosen, above ... Others?  Oh, Me of Little Faith and The Doping of God's People were the others. No matter ....

Did Sen. Bernie Sanders say that the USA was on the path towards Aristocratic or Oligarchic rule?That doesn't matter much, either. Rule by a select few or rule by the rich and famous or -- for that matter -- rule by any other defined ruling class would be equally unAmerican. So, 240 years and there have, indeed, been some families that have risen to ascendancy ... the Adams, long ago ... more recently the Roosevelt, Kennedy, Bush and Clinton clans. Troubling? Perhaps. But those who arose to power in most of these situations were, indeed, well-educated and well-spoken folk who -- at least apparently -- had something cogent to say about the World and how it works.

I don't suppose that these folk were always or even most of the time on-target about policy. I have no reason to hide my admiration for President Obama and his mode of thinking ... reflecting ... And I'm quite comfortable accepting that his decisions will be the subject of reviews and revision for many years to come. The Governance of Nations -- just like Science -- is not a practice that can be carried out without error ... both attempt to move closer to a Good State of Affairs. At no point, do we ever attain Capital-T Truth or World Peace ... but we earnestly move in that direction using carefully reflective thought.

OK! OK! "What's my point." you ask. Actually, it's more like a rhetorical question:

Why the Fuck would anyone listen to a Little Rich Boy 

who -- to repeat from Sen. Warren -- is afraid to lose to a girl?

I listen to him day after day mouth one poorly constructed thought after its opposite or before another moronic platitude?  But ...

Why the Fuck would any of the News Outlets 

take him seriously enough to give him something 

like $50 Million in free advertising and discussion? 

ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, NBC, or MSNBC? They talk of what he says AS IF it made sense. Wow! No wonder he beat-out 16 other candidates who had something to say but who got, at most, one quarter the coverage that this Clown received! And these news outlets are just beginning to say -- paraphrasing Dan Rather,  more than a case of Republican thinkers and a keg of Democratic ones:

Y'know! This guy is a dangerous schmuck!

Aristocracies and Oligarchies were not untypically led by folk who were somewhat deeper thinkers than Gomer P., Forrest G. and Donald Trump. Are the talking heads of ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, NBC, and MSNBC unwilling -- in the name of some abstract notion of journalistic even-handedness -- to refuse to cover the shenanigans of an adolescent bully mooning the Girls Locker Room and blowing off firecrackers in the Boys?  

I do credit him with cleverness. Tell a Big Lie, big enough to get everyones' attention, and then blame those who report on it. Now, that is clever, even if it was a strategy designed by Oligarchic types trying to convince the Middle Class that by paying Tribute to them in the form of reduced taxes that wealth and hot (wo)men would trickle down to them.

Shoulda been more like this when DT was permitted to call in from his Trump Tower Loft ... Donald (D) and then responses from these Talking Heads (News):

to 5th Grade Civics and borrow Mr. Khan's Copy of the US Constitution!

News: DT, you insufferable idiot ... Go back to Germany 

where you paternal genes are from and take Melania home 

to where she comes from, while you're at it! Sorry, Melania!

might have redress against Corrupt Hillary.

News: "Book 'em, Dano!"

No. No. The Media has, hiding under their neutrality, been complicit in allowing a Puerile and Unruly Little Rich Kid ... the one beating up kids in the playground (with hired thugs because he's a Whatever) and mooning at the door of the Girl's Locker Room ... to grow into a Charismatic threat to our World that has even duped decent, religious Middle America into believing that he's for-real. Sad. Really sad!

By the way ... lemme make it quite clear that were I to claim to have the experience necessary to run the World, it would ... I would be equally obscene.

Dan Rather ... You have my admiration for breaking the silence!
